Government putting $4.8m more towards clean energy switch | More government buildings will be supported to switch to clean energy as part the Government’s plan for a carbon neutral public sector by 2025. James Shaw, Minister of Climate Change, has allocated another $4.8 million from the Government’s $220 million State Sector Decarbonisation Fund to purchase more EVs and energy efficient lighting. | | | |

Transpower signs first grid-scale solar connection agreement | Helios Energy’s Edgecombe project has become New Zealand’s first grid-scale solar development to receive contracted permission to connect to the national grid. Transpower said the agreement was the first of many to come as New Zealand moves towards electrification of the economy as part of lower carbon future. | | | |

Anthem release results of climate change impact study | Anthem have released the results of a study (undertaken by Talbot Mills) of more than 1,000 New Zealanders, revealing that 64% of Kiwis feel it is unfair to continue to build and develop residential and commercial properties in flood-prone areas as sea levels rise twice as fast as previously forecast.
