Business network for te reo Māori supported by SBC members

Happy te wiki o te reo Māori! Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori (The Māori Language Commission) has launched a free nationwide network for businesses supporting te reo Māori, offering a safe space to share their practices and learnings. Founding members include SBC members Air New Zealand and Countdown. Kia kaha te reo Māori!

   

Counties Energy secures $200m ASB Sustainability Transition Loan

Counties Energy has secured $200m to support its sustainability projects and operational investment through ASB's Sustainable Transition Loan. The loan, designed to support a company's transition planning, strategy and measurement, will be enable Counties Energy to progress key initiatives, including fleet optimisation.

   

New Zealand Steel emissions reduction project hits milestone

New Zealand Steel's electric arc furnace, the biggest emissions reduction project in the motu, has been given the full green light following a feasibility study. "This project will eliminate one per cent of the country’s total annual emissions and deliver huge benefits for our environment, our industry and to New Zealanders."

   

Hydrogen aircraft in the skies by 2035, says consortium

Aotearoa New Zealand could have hydrogen-powered planes in operation on domestic routes as soon as 2035, according to the country's Hydrogen Aviation Consortium, which includes SBC members Air New Zealand, Christchurch Airport and Hiringa Energy. Check out the consortium's recently released report here for more information.

Featured in the most recent EVs and Beyond online magazine (pages 17-18), this listicle features ten amazing SBC members and CLC signatories who are transitioning their fleets to electric vehicles, including a number of world-firsts.
