Introducing the THRIVE ecosystem

In an effort to help our members tackle workforce disruption, SBC is launching a future work ecosystem called THRIVE. This 12-month pilot is a partnership between SBC, NZ Post and FutureWork Studio and aims to ultimately bring SBC members together to engage, support each other and equip their workforces to thrive in the changing world of work.

A number of spokespeople from SBC member/partner organisations,  including Matt Bolger (University of Waikato Management School), Amanda Whiting (IAG), Malcolm Johns (Genesis) and Rachel Simpson (BusinessNZ), fed their thoughts into this Stuff piece around how Aotearoa can recover from recent catastrophic weather events.

   

3R Group call for participants in Tyrewise stewardship scheme

3R Group is seeking future participants for its Tyrewise product stewardship scheme, a project designed to bring a circular approach to the management of end-of-life tyres. “Whether you’re a seller or wish to provide your expertise and industry knowledge to a technical advisory group to continue the good work done by Tyrewise’s working group, please ensure we have your details."
   

SLP scholarships now open

SBC and Catapult are again offering a limited number of scholarships to the not-for-profit sector on the 2023 Sustainability Leadership Programme (SLP). Applicants need to be employed full-time for a not-for-profit organisation focused on social, environmental, or economic sustainability. Find further information and apply here by 17 March.

How do Kiwis feel about property being built in climate at-risk areas?

Anthem's August 2022 edition of Fair Enough? asked the question "Is it fair for property to be built on, bought or sold in areas that are known to be adversely affected by climate change?' This is a timely piece of research given the weather events of the last month, and Anthem's blog outlines the results of the poll in a number of different pie charts.

   

Government breaks ground on Auckland Light Rail project

The Government is marking the start of physical works for Auckland's Light Rail project, highlighting its commitment to deliver a linked up mass rapid transport network for Aucklanders. "The Government is upgrading New Zealand’s transport infrastructure to future proof the system for future generations to come, securing New Zealand’s economy and supporting our largest city to thrive."

CLC Masterclass Series: Assessing climate change 

risks & opportunities
