New offerings in our Leadership in Sustainability Work Programme

We’re pleased to share new ways for members to accelerate their sustainability journeys, including a community of practice on recession-proofing ESG, access to training, and a sustainability toolkit. These services form part of our Leadership in Sustainability work, aimed at both raising the floor and lifting the ceiling of sustainable business practices.

   

Takeaways from the 2024 WBCSD Global Network Meeting

SBC Executive Director Mike Burrell tuned into the WBCSD Global Network meeting last week to hear from WBCSD President Peter Bakker, learn from other Global Network Partners, share updates from the Asia-Pacific region, and more. CCBC 2024 programme now live

We’re pleased to share the programme for this year’s Climate Change & Business Conference (9-10 September), which will have over 30 different sessions and workshops, including on driving down emissions, building resilience, just transition and more. Former Green Party Co-Leader and Minister for Climate Change, James Shaw, has joined Air NZ's Sustainability Advisory Panel. "Aviation has a significant challenge to transition away from fossil fuels...Outside expertise is critical to helping us navigate this, and we're incredibly privileged to welcome someone of James Shaw's calibre to our Sustainability Advisory Panel."

Hiringa opens hydrogen fuelling station in South Auckland

Hiringa Energy has opened a hydrogen fuelling station in Wiri, now one of three in the North Island, which has the capacity to power the big semi-trucks used for emissions-intensive heavy road freight. "We can do up to 60 trucks from this station, and that's taking 60 trucks off the road. Each truck is equivalent to taking between 100 and 150 cars off the road."

   

NZ Post Delivering For Good

Voting has kicked off for NZ Post's Delivering for Good ‘People’s Choice’, with 13 deserving organisations each already set to receive a year of free courier services. With greenwashing and greenhushing on the rise, it's becoming increasingly tricky to confidently and clearly communicate your organisation's sustainability targets and achievements. This engaging and interactive workshop run by Proxima (a Certified GRI Standards training provider) holistically weaves together the principles of the world's most widely used sustainability reporting framework with concepts of value creation, communication, strategy, reporting and practical application. Whether or not you're involved in sustainability reporting, this workshop will provide you the skills and confidence to effectively communicate your organisation's sustainability journey. 24-Hour Natural Climate Solutions Summit (WBCSD)
