2022 CFO Sustainability Snapshot Survey results now live

Deloitte, SBC and Toitū Tahua: Centre for Sustainable Finance have released the findings of the 2022 CFO Sustainability Snapshot Survey. Progress towards sustainable actions remains stagnant, it’s more difficult for CFOs to measure the ROI of sustainable transitions, and collaboration is needed to drive greater action. Mike in Tokyo for 2022 WBCSD Council Meeting next week

Counties Energy adds EV chargers at strategic expressway location

Counties Energy has installed two EV chargers on the Waikato Expressway at Mercer, a key location for EV drivers. In a New Zealand first, co-funded by EECA as part of the Low Emission Vehicles Contestable Fund, the chargers will showcase renewable energy at its best, set to be powered by a second-life battery system made from discarded Nissan Leaf EV batteries. 

   

Christchurch and Hamburg airports joining forces on green hydrogen

The two airports will partner to develop infrastructure for the use of green hydrogen in aviation. "We both believe airports have a responsibility to do all they can to progress sustainable airport operation with renewable energies. We want to actively work together towards the Net Zero climate goals and believe it's time now to set ourselves more joint goals."

   
Sustainably built homes are crucial

What difference does having a sustainably built home make? Turns out, quite a big one. Our ED Mike Burrell and Andrew Eagles from CLC signatory the New Zealand Green Building Council explained in an article for the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand's recent Real Estate magazine why 'green' homes are key to building a sustainable future. The Business of Nature: Why Papatūānuku needs to be our CEO
