All Heart NZ launches innovative mattress recycling trial

In an effort to better dispose of end-of-life mattresses, which are notoriously difficult to break down and can cause real issues in landfill, All Heart NZ is trialing a mattress deconstruction scheme to see how much material can be recycled  – and it turns out it's around 75% of the mattress. Government announces buyout of some flood-affected properties

Government has announced it will help support flood-affected regions to offer a voluntary buyout for owners of residential properties where future severe weather risks can't be mitigated. For properties where these risks can be mitigated, support will also be provided to adapt and future-proof these communities and homes. Read the Beehive release here.

AUT retains top 100 spot in 2023 Global Impact Rankings

AUT has once again been ranked in the world's top 100 universities in the 2023 Times Higher Education Impact rankings, which measure universities' progress towards achieving their SDGs. "These rankings reflect our increasing commitment at AUT to recognise and respond to our global responsibilities and opportunities guided by the UN SDGs."
