Message from Mike Burrell
In his latest video, Mike talks about what members want to see in the recovery - embedded sustainability, more resilient supply chains, and fairness. More on SBC and Covid-19
NZ Marketplace – B2B resource help
Speaking of supply chains, NZTE has launched a resource-sharing platform for businesses to connect with other NZ businesses that may need or have extra resource at this time. This is for urgent or timely requests or offers that have come about due to the disruption in the businesses supply chain, and is organised into sector/solution forums such as freight, temporary storage, supplies, business services and staff availability.
Setting up your online workshop for success
Or, how to move a big event online with very little notice. Kate Ferguson hosted the Embed event as a virtual workshop for 76 SBC members on 23 March. She shares her experience, and some tips for facilitators and participants on online meetings.
Communicating through Covid-19
As we mark two weeks in lockdown, some businesses are thinking about when we move out of level 4 - and how to communicate along the way. James Walker and Sophie Coley at Porter Novelli have written a new blog about how we can look carefully ahead as communicators.
Members helping the community
We are feeling so grateful to hear fantastic stories of our members helping the community at this time. Auckland Council staff are helping Auckland City Mission make meals for homeless people. Countdown has offered instant employment to Flight Centre staff who have been made redundant. Vodafone is providing families that don't have the internet at Otahuhu College access to it so kids can learn. And Z Energy gave St John New Zealand a month of free fuel.
COVID-19: Virtual drop-in sessions
We held a successful virtual drop-in session at lunchtime today for members to exchange ideas and challenges relating to sustainability during the current crisis. Several good ideas came up around crisis management and communication, as well as how we can take this opportunity to achieve real change in sustainable business. The next one will happen on 22 April
CFOs take lead on climate risk and value creation
Late last year, we worked with Deloitte to bring together a range of New Zealand’s leading CFOs in the Deloitte Greenhouse for our first ‘Climate Risk & Value Creation’ workshop. Deloitte has shared reflections and key takeaways from the workshop.
Sustainability Leadership Programme goes virtual
The world has changed dramatically since we launched this year's Sustainability Leadership Programme (SLP) - but leadership is all about adaptability. With programme partners Catapult, we have adapted SLP 2020 to be delivered online, via ten weekly, two-hour online workshops between 6 May and 8 June.
The need for a global response
The WBCSD has launched a COVID-19 response programme tackling three areas of focus: vital supply chains, return to “normal” scenarios, and long-term impacts – looking at vulnerabilities revealed by the crisis & lessons for future resilience and stakeholder capitalism. Also of interest: How WBCSD members are responding to the crisis.
