Focus on agriculture at COP24
New Zealand, France, Ireland, Australia and the Netherlands held a joint showcase of innovations and practical actions that farmers are taking to balance climate action and food security. Company action on emissions 
Recent Climate Leaders Coalition case studies include IAG moving to energy efficient buildings, New Zealand Post on planning to reduce your emissions and Ecostore tackling the plastic problem. In other climate news, the Reserve Bank has published a strategy for how it will contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
Genesis Energy joins EV100 club
Genesis Energy has committed to convert every car in its light vehicle fleet to electric or hybrid by 2020, and 50% of its heavy vehicle fleet by 2025. Air New Zealand, Christchurch Airport and Unilever are also in the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative.  
When the rubber hits the road
WSP Opus research teams are in the final phase of a three-year project to trial an alternative pavement material of rubberised asphalt made from recycled tyres. The material could result in more durable roads and also address the issue of tyre disposal. 
Ministry for the Environment now CEMARS-certified  
Enviro-Mark Solutions has awarded the Ministry for the Environment certification to the Certified Emissions Measurement And Reduction Scheme (CEMARS®), for their carbon footprint and reduction plan. Twelve other SBC members are already CEMARS-certified, including Auckland Airport, EECA, and Toll.

Westpac New Zealand have published an update on their progress towards achieving their 2020 Sustainability Strategy, focusing on growing New Zealanders' financial wellbeing, taking action on climate change and being a responsible business.
