Potential partners named for Southern Green Hydrogen project

Southern Green Hydrogen project, a joint venture between Meridian Energy and Contact Energy, has announced four potential development partners shortlisted to build the world’s first large-scale green hydrogen plant in Southland. The plant would use renewable electricity primarily from Meridian’s Manapouri hydro scheme.

Cutting plastic construction waste

Unitec’s newest plastic research centre Environmental Solutions Research Centre (ESRC) has designed a reusable tarpaulin which eliminates the need for single-use plastic. Working with Mitre 10, Auckland Council and Naylor Love, the ESRC found that many contractors would like to reduce waste, but don't have the option in the procurement process.

The Environmental Defence Society and SBC’s Climate Change & Business Conference will now be held 19 – 20 September, 2022. We recognise that the key to successful action is networking in-person, rather than virtually, and all steps will be taken to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines.
