NZ Post to go carbon neutral
NZ Post have set themselves a new goal to be carbon neutral from 2030. CEO David Walsh says, "It's an ambitious goal, but we want to be leaders in this field and there are environmental, social and financial advantages in doing so. We also believe it will drive innovation and efficiencies across our business." Read more.
Now is the time for businesses to go electric
Meridian Energy is supporting Drive Electric’s new White PaperBuilding an electric fleet: a ‘how-to’ guide for businesses considering transitioning to electric vehicles. Procurement manager Nick Robillard says by converting Meridian's fleet to electric they've reduced emissions and saved up to $6,000 a year per vehicle on operating and maintenance costs. Both Meridian and Westpac contributed to the White Paper's development. 
Launching the Impact Initiative
The Akina Foundation and Department of Internal Affairs have launched a new social enterprise sector engagement website, called the Impact Initiative. It is designed to help build a thriving and connected social enterprise sector over the next three years, which has ready access to experts, financing and markets. 
Aeroqual founder finalist in KiwiNet Awards
Aeroqual founder Professor David Williams, from the University of Auckland and MacDiarmid Institute, is a finalist in the KiwiNet Awards, which celebrates local heroes in research commercialisation. Aeroqual develops world-leading instruments and sensors that measure air quality, as well as data systems that check the reliability of results and information. 
A fishy prize for a poetess pupil
The inaugural Fish4all Seaweek Poetry Competition prize has been awarded to Emma McCardle from Mangawhai Beach School. Congratulations! Read her poem and some news media coverage here. Emma's teacher, Rebecca Low, says the competition is a fun way for students to practice their writing and use the Fish4all app, which encourages sustainable fishing.

Cloud services 93% more energy efficient
A new report has found that Microsoft Cloud Services are up to 93 percent more energy efficient and up to 98 percent more carbon efficient than traditional enterprise datacentres. The report called The carbon benefits of cloud computing was written by Microsoft and WSP.
SBC elections - Advisory Board + FLP Alumni 
It's almost SBC election time! The nomination period for SBC Advisory Board and Future Leader Alumni representative will be 25 June - 16 July, and voting will be open 23 July - 8 August. An announcement of the results will happen at SBC's Annual Council Meeting on 15 August. Keep an eye on your inbox for further details.
