Sustainability with student power
Victoria University of Wellington was recently recognised with two International Green Gown awards for their student-driven sustainability initiatives. Andrew Wilks, Director, Sustainability reports back from the Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability conference on how tertiary education institutions are contributing to a sustainable future.
Science-based targets in Wellington
We have teamed up with Enviro-Mark Solutions and WWF New Zealand to help businesses build their understanding of science-based targets. This week we took the message to Wellington businesses, and NZ Post and Contact Energy shared their experiences.  
Happy Birthday to ecostore 
25 years young, ecostore was co-founded by SBC board member Malcolm Rands, and Melanie Rands. Talking to the Spinoff, Malcolm said “We want to knock down all the barriers for producing responsibly manufactured products and if our competitors end up using the same materials as us, that means they’re doing some good as well."

When it comes to new ways of driving, working together is the key. Toyota Financial Services will now support Cityhop to expand their network beyond Wellington and Auckland, and Capital & Coast District Health Board are the latest organisation to take up a trial of electric vehicles from Contact Energy.

Focus on reporting
Sanford has just released their 2018 Annual Report with a focus on all of the elements needed for a sustainable seafood business. The Warehouse Group 2018 Annual Report celebrates their people and values, an approach that has seen them win the Diversity and Inclusion category of the Employee Experience Awards.

Sustainability leadership programmes for directors and executives
The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership programmes are always popular. Only four places are left for the next sustainability leadership programme for directors in March 2019. The Prince of Wales programme for executives is currently waitlist only, but more places may open up, so it is worth registering your interest.
