How the SDGs are helping NZ companies
This week Beca hosted a workshop on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, looking at the latest developments and approaches for embedding the SDGs into business. We heard from MFAT, Sanford, Vector and Christchurch International Airport. Rob Perry has more. 
What's new in the Climate Leaders Coalition 
By including biomass in the fuel mix for the Brightwater processing plant, Fonterra is now ahead of schedule on emissions reduction. Auckland Council has committed to support the target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. And Countdown has installed electric vehicle charging stations at five supermarkets in the Waikato. Suncorp New Zealand is the latest member to sign up.

What activities should EECA fund?    
The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority is seeking feedback on what they should spend $13.8 million on in 2019/20, before 14 December. The energy levies can fund activities that encourage, promote, and support energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable sources of energy.

Te Papa Tongarewa are revamping their iconic Nature exhibition and are calling for New Zealanders to contribute videos during November showing how they are taking action on fresh water, oceans and shorelines, native species recovery and pest control, or climate change. This could be an opportunity for staff to share their passion for the environment.

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership programmes are always popular. Only four places are left for the next sustainability leadership programme for directors in March 2019. The Prince of Wales programme for executives is currently waitlist only, but more places may open up, so it is worth registering your interest.
