New Good Governance Guide
SBC, in association with KPMG, has launched the Creating Value from Good Governance Guide. Its development follows requests from directors for simple tools to help boards build understanding and strategic oversight of sustainability within their organisations. The Guide was launched this week at a breakfast event for CEOs and Directors.
Air NZ focus on five sustainability challenges
Air New Zealand published its fourth Sustainability Report this week. The report focuses on the five biggest sustainability challenges and opportunities Air New Zealand is tackling: advancing its people, climate change and carbon, sustainable tourism and regional development, sustainable procurement, and waste and plastics.
Genesis announces new wind farm 
Genesis and Tilt Renewables have announced they intend to partner on the development of the
Waverley Wind Farm, to be located between Patea and Waverley in South Taranaki. CEO Marc England says the 100 megawatt wind farm could start operating by 2020. 
Manaaki Whenua leads biodiversity work
Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research is leading three new programmes, funded through the MBIE Endeavour Fund, that aim to increase biodiversity, strengthen biosecurity and improve erosion management: 'Beyond Myrtle Rust: towards ecosystem resilience', 'More birds in the bush: large-scale restoration across complex forest' and 'Smarter targeting of erosion control'. 
WSP Opus Virtual Reality
WSP Opus has developed an interactive, problem-solving virtual reality game called Sustain-a-city, which allows players to build a smart world of the future and help it grow and thrive to an optimum healthy size. You can have a test-run at the upcoming Auckland Build Expo.
Seeking sustainability advisors
Auckland Council has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability and Resilience Advisor to work across multiple areas including sustainable procurement, climate adaptation, green infrastructure provision, food policy, and alternative finance mechanisms.
And Genesis is recruiting for a Sustainability Advisor to help implement the organisation's new sustainability framework and manage a programme of work along with a focus on carbon reporting for non-generation emissions.
