L'Oreal, HITO and Fostering Kids NZ have teamed up to launch ten hair and beauty scholarships for Kiwi teens who are or have been in foster care. L'Oreal NZ's Tanya Abbott says, "Making a difference in the world is a shared responsibility, which requires a collaborative mindset and value-added partnerships." Silver Fern Farms has also launched a new $30,000 Plate to Pasture Youth Scholarship scheme. They'll be awarding $5000 to six young people around New Zealand this year to develop their careers in food and farming in the red meat sector. Read more here.


The Warehouse has started using electric vans for online order deliveries in Auckland. The van has a relatively short range, but The Warehouse's Greg Nelson says that has turned out to be a benefit. "We are now smarter about the routes we take so that we maximise our deliveries. Not only are we replacing fossil fuel with electricity we are reducing the number of trips we need to take."
