Westpac launches sustainability training for all employees

Westpac NZ has become the first bank in the country to make a new sustainability learning programme available to all employees. "Sustainability is no longer a side-of-desk interest. Being aware of the impacts of climate change and how our lives and economies are changing as a result is important for everyone, no matter what your role or what industry you work in."

Ākina Impact Investment Readiness Programme recipients announced

The first recipients of the 2023 Ākina IIRP have been announced. It's not too late to apply, and there is up to $25k in it for impact-led business looking to scale. Of particular interest are those based in Northland, Auckland and Bay of Plenty, as well as Māori or Pasifika businesses based in Horowhenua, Gisborne or Northland. Learn how 2022 recipient Critical was supported by Ākina, and apply here.

   

First TWG sites switch to solar

The first 26 of The Warehouse Group's stores and sites are now using solar power, with 225+ more sites switching by the end of 2026. "We estimate that today’s switch will reduce our Scope 2 emissions by at least 808 tonnes of CO2e a year - the equivalent of taking 175 passenger vehicles off the road yearly and steers us towards our goal of zero emissions in our operations by 2040."
