Video update from Mike Burrell

SBC Talks Tools with Unravel Carbon

In our most recent edition of SBC Talks Tools, we spoke with Marc Allen, Co-Founder of Singapore-based member Unravel Carbon, about how their enterprise software can do with carbon data in 15 minutes what it would take nine months to do manually, leaving more time for carbon reduction activities. NZ Post's electric light truck trial a success, emissions cut

A light electric truck has come out with top marks after NZ Post trialled it for six months, making significant savings on fuel costs and dramatically cutting carbon emissions. “Learnings will help enable NZ Post to rollout low carbon technology in the transport network,” says Group Sustainability Manager Dawn Baggaley. Read more about the trial here. 

   

Welcome back Jay Crangle!

We’re pleased to share that Jay Crangle, SBC’s Manager – Leadership in Sustainability, has returned from parental leave and will be taking up a part-time role of 10 hours per week. We'll be recruiting for a Leadership Manager over the next few months, and in the meantime, Jay will coordinate the SBC leadership portfolio. She will then stay on with us to support specific SBC projects. Welcome back Jay! 
   

MFAT consultation around approach to climate change negotiations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) is consulting on Aotearoa New Zealand’s approach to international climate change negotiations. Feedback will inform advice to the Government to guide New Zealand’s participation in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) and other international climate fora. EVA Marketplace trials corporate PPA sleeving at Marlborough winery

In a first for New Zealand's electricity market, SBC member EVA Marketplace, a company that brokers power purchase agreements (PPAs) between buyers and sellers of 100% renewable energy, has arranged a trial between a Blenheim Winery and a rooftop solar array owned by Energy Marlborough. Reframing the costs of climate change rolling symposium
