OfficeMax is reducing and electrifying its vehicle fleet

In an aim to cut its fleet emissions in half, OfficeMax New Zealand is phasing out its fleet of 105 conventional vehicles by the end of 2023, which will be replaced with a combination of EVs and hybridsThe move will help to cut scope 1 and 2 emissions by 25% by 2025, with the lower carbon emitting cars reducing emissions by about 185 tonnes annually.

In the latest edition of SBC Talks Tools, we catch up with Paul Coster, Founder of EVA Marketplace, Aotearoa New Zealand's only renewables marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of 100% green electricity through PPA agreements. 2023 Insights on New Zealand Sustainability Professionals released

The 2023 edition of the Insights on New Zealand Sustainability Professionals, produced by Oxygen in partnership with SBC, SBN and AUT, has found most sustainability professionals are reasonably confident in their current ability to do their role, but only half believe their current capability development is enough for their future role requirements. New single use plastic rules to come into effect this Saturday 1 July

As of this Saturday 1 July, many single use plastics, including produce bags, straws, cutlery and tableware, are being banned in an effort to reduce Aotearoa New Zealand's reliance on single use plastic, as well as reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in our environment. SBC's new Materiality Toolkit

Part of SBC’s role is supporting our members as they embed sustainability within their businesses. In partnership with members who are further along on their sustainability journey, we've put together some practical 'sustainability fundamentals', including this materiality toolkit, designed to support members who are earlier on in their journey.
