Millennium Hotels and Resorts NZ
Millennium Hotels and Resorts NZ
We have been established in New Zealand for 30 years and our hotel brands include Millennium, Grand Millennium, M Social, Copthorne and Kingsgate.
In 2024, the MCK portfolio consisted of 18 hotels across New Zealand from the Bay of Islands through to Te Anau (including two franchises). Our hotels are located in New Zealand’s key gateway cities and we take pride in hosting a wide variety of conferences and events at our properties, employing over 1,000 staff nationwide.
MCK is part of a global company and network of hotels with an emphasis on supporting positive local environmental outcomes. In 2024 we joined the global Sustainability Team of our parent company to advance action on sustainability. As a NZX listed company we issue an annual Climate Statement to meet our climate-related disclosure obligations.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts NZ meets the requirements of Toitū carbonreduce® certification having measured our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2006. We are committed to managing and reducing our emissions and are currently setting public GHG emissions reduction targets.
We are still early in our sustainability journey. We are currently developing our Sustainability Strategy aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Tourism Industry Association’s Sustainable Tourism framework. Many of our hotels have Qualmark silver status, meeting their Sustainable Tourism Business criteria officially recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Millennium is also part of the Hotel Sustainability Alliance Aotearoa, an industry collaboration of hotels across the country.
We see being a member of SBC as an opportunity to accelerate our sustainability action and we are keen to join with others across Aotearoa to increase our impact.
