BRANZ is New Zealand’s construction sector research engine.

As an independent research organisation, BRANZ provides impartial, evidence-based advice to industry and government on critical issues in building and construction in New Zealand.

We are driven by the knowledge that to thrive as a society, New Zealanders require a built environment that is safe and healthy and performs to the benefit of all.

At its heart, BRANZ is a team of scientists, engineers and professionals passionately committed to ensuring Aotearoa’s built environment is the best it can be.

That commitment includes demonstrating environmentally conscious and sustainable practices as well as carrying out research to help the industry reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for change. It also includes taking a leadership role in the Environment workstream of the Construction Sector Accord.
