Are you struggling to recruit young people?
Are you struggling to recruit young people to work at your business?
The Sustainable Business Council is developing a new project to help businesses employ and retain young New Zealanders in Auckland and the regions – particularly Northland and Hawkes Bay.
It’s really important we get young people into meaningful work. One in ten New Zealanders (12.5 percent) aged 15 to 24 are not in employment, education or training. And that’s twice the national unemployment rate.
SBC’s Social Impact programme will be offering advice and support to members – as they refine their recruitment process and train young staff. We want to see the sustained employment of young people, particularly those who are disadvantaged or excluded.
Fonterra’s Managing Director of Corporate Affairs Mike Cronin is championing the project.
“At Fonterra we really care about young New Zealanders and we work really hard to bring them into all aspects of our business”.
“I’m really pleased to be the champion of this project. It is a great opportunity for SBC companies to widen the diversity of their staff and attract talented young people”.
This new exciting phase of the Social Impact programme will start rolling out from July.
