Social procurement, supplier diversity, sustainable purchasing – whatever you call it or the tactics you deploy, leveraging your supply chains to create impact is now good practice. Procurement is a key lever for change but it is not without its challenges – therefore getting the foundations right is key!
Join SBC’s Robert Perry and hear from Rochelle Wallens, Social Procurement Manager for Ākina, who will outline what ‘impact procurement’ practically means, what good practice looks like, and the benefits it opens up for your business to create and deliver positive social and environmental outcomes for your communities.
Roland Mitchell – Procurement Manager at Air NZ – will talk about their supplier diversity programme. how they’re working with both Ākina and Amotai to unlock opportunities for Māori and Pasifika businesses and social enterprises, and key steps and challenges on their supplier diversity journey.
Ineke Brockie – Head of Procurement at WSP – will outline why social procurement (and in particular supplier diversity) has become a strong focus for WSP, including practical steps and learnings.
Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of the different ways (different focus areas, tactics) your business can embed impact into its purchasing decisions; what good practice looks like and key steps an organisation can take to build more impactful procurement practices.
