Modern Slavery Masterclass Series
Modern Slavery Masterclass Series
In 2025 SBC partnered with Deloitte and Walk Free to co-deliver an online masterclass series on addressing modern slavery. This series provides clear, practical guidance on assessing risks, strengthening policies, and improving disclosures using the Walk Free Modern Slavery Benchmarking Tool.
Session 1 – Governance & Policy
Strong governance is the foundation for tackling modern slavery.
In this session, we unpacked how responsibility, strategy, and policy come together – plus how to ensure commitments are implemented and reported on meaningfully.
Session 2 – Risk Assessment & Due Diligence
Understanding where risks lie is key to taking effective action.
This session explored how to assess modern slavery risks in operations and supply chains, evaluate employment and purchasing practices, and engage suppliers through meaningful due diligence.
Session 3 – Grievance Mechanisms, Response & Remediation
Remedy isn’t just about response – it includes prevention and mitigation.
This session covered how to establish effective grievance mechanisms and remediation processes that are proactive, well-communicated, and designed to address harms before they occur and when they do.
