Jay joined SBC in 2019 as our Leadership Manager, during which time she made an enormous impact in helping our members both raise the floor and push the ceiling of sustainability. In order to help decarbonise freight transport, many organisations are interested in increasing the modal diversity of their freight services, thus changing the mode under which their freight is moved, primarily undertaking mode shift from road to rail/shipping. This report outlines the benefits and barriers of this change, as well as opportunities that will help increase the proportion of freight moved on rail and coastal shipping.
