SBC Thriving Voices: Delivering business and community impact together
Are you investing in the right things in your communities? How can your organisation improve people’s lives and the environment?
Aotearoa New Zealand is at a critical turning point. In transitioning to a low carbon future, we need to ensure no one is left behind – yet significant systemic inequities still remain, and vulnerable communities will be impacted the most if we do not make changes now.
Our flagship report Strengthening the S in ESG, shows businesses have an exciting opportunity to progress social equity through community investment and impact. Many companies launch social impact initiatives with the best intentions but are missing the opportunity of long-term social sustainability.
Robert Perry, Manager Thriving People at SBC will be joined by Kristin Fanselow, Director of Impact at New Zealand’s leading impact consultancy Ākina, where they’ll share what a good practice social impact strategy looks like, and five principles your organisation can embrace to create and maximise positive outcomes for your organisation and communities.
Community leader Witeri Williams (Operations Manager, Ruapōtaka Marae) will provide a perspective on how partnering with community-led solutions can deliver lasting impact business to delivery social impact and why a change in approach is needed.
We will also be joined by Simon Tucker (Director Global Sustainability, Stakeholder Affairs and Trade, Fonterra) and Shaheen Junge (Social Investment Manager, Deloitte) who will share how Fonterra’s approach to working with communities has evolved to take action on food inequality and accessibility by putting good nutrition in the hands of those who need it most.
This event is open to SBC members only.
