Did you know around 180,000 tonnes of clothing and textile waste is dumped in New Zealand landfills every year?…that’s more than 3 tonne every 10 minutes! Upparel NZ Ltd, the sister company of Australian textile recovery and recycler Upparel, is on a mission to change that.

Join us for this Spotlight Session as we hear from Jeff Vollebregt, Upparel NZ Director, and Sandra McCormack (Downer’s National Procurement Manager) about how Upparel converts what would be deemed end-of-life textile waste from Downer into a profitable and sustainable resource, while replacing products that have traditionally been made from virgin non-sustainable materials, such as polystyrene, fibreglass and cellulose.
