Social Sustainability Disclosure
Social sustainability disclosure is becoming increasingly important as businesses seek to better understand, manage, and communicate their impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities related to people. Greater transparency can strengthen decision-making, improve accountability, and build trust with investors, employees, customers, and communities.
SBC supports this shift by convening leaders and practitioners to advance social performance, impact measurement, and disclosure, helping organisations translate emerging global frameworks into practical business action.
As an Alliance Partner of the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD) and a member of the TISFD APAC leadership group, SBC helps connect New Zealand businesses with emerging international thinking and practice.
Members can participate in SBC’s Social Impact Sprint, a practical peer-learning programme that helps organisations identify and assess their people-related impacts, risks, opportunities, and dependencies using emerging TISFD concepts. Insights from this work can be shared into global developments and help shape future practice.
SBC members also have the opportunity to join the TISFD Preparer Forum, providing early access to emerging guidance, opportunities to contribute feedback, and the chance to help road-test elements of the TISFD beta framework before wider release.
By connecting global frameworks with real-world business challenges, SBC helps organisations move beyond compliance and reporting to better understand how social issues affect business performance, resilience, and long-term value.
