NZX

NZX operates New Zealand’s equity, debt, funds, derivatives, and energy markets. To support the growth of our markets, we provide trading, clearing, settlement, depository and data services for our customers including 339 issuer relationships. We also own Smartshares, New Zealand’s only issuer of listed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), and Kiwi Saver provider Super Life. NZX Wealth Technologies is a 100%-owned subsidiary delivering rich online platform functionality to enable New Zealand investment advisors and providers to efficiently manage, trade and administer their client’s assets.

Our ESG Strategy (Operating Responsibly) runs through the heart of our business – as the operator of New Zealand’s stock exchange and markets, as a financial services and technology business, and as a regulator. The four “Ps” – Planet, People, Prosperity and Principles of governance – are the core pillars of NZX’s ESG approach. We ensure it aligns with our organisational purpose, vision and strategy, and with New Zealand’s long-term sustainability goals and international commitments (including the Paris Agreement).

As a business, NZX is committed to taking action on climate change. In 2023 NZX achieved net carbon zero certification from Toitū Envirocare for the third year in a row. Sustainable economic growth is a priority for NZX. Public markets will continue to play an important role in facilitating the flow of capital towards decarbonising the New Zealand economy. NZX is a signatory of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative.
