Catherine Jeffcoat has joined the Sustainable Business Council for a year, while Renée Graham is on maternity leave.

Catherine will lead SBC’s communications work, which aims to mainstream sustainability in New Zealand businesses, and help Aotearoa transition to a low emissions economy.

Catherine has previously worked at the Productivity Commission, the Treasury and most recently at the Office of the Children’s Commissioner in Wellington, where she helped raise awareness of child poverty and the particular rights and needs of children and young people. She also spent three years at the OECD in Paris, leading communications for the Green Growth Strategy delivered in 2011.

Before the OECD, she worked in the areas of consulting, trade promotion and telecommunications software. She is looking forward to helping SBC members tell their sustainability stories and inspire New Zealanders to support sustainable business.

Renée is preparing for the arrival of her little girl in mid-August, with lots of cake and walks around the Town Belt.
