Ports of Auckland

Our Vision is to be the best port company in Australasia with world class performance.

New Zealand is an island nation, reliant on its ports for everything it imports and exports. Our performance has a direct impact on how much New Zealanders pay for imports, and the competitiveness of our exporters.

In 2011 we decided to change the way we work so that we could give our customers the service they need. Since then we've streamlined the business structure and made some big changes to the way we run our container terminal. There's lots more to do, but it's good to see the results start to come through.

Our ship rate, a key measure for improving vessel turnaround time, has increased 30% since 2010 and it hit a new average high of 86 moves per hour for the third quarter of 2013. This is the highest quarterly average achieved in New Zealand to date.

New Zealand's Ministry of Transport gathers quarterly and annual container port productivity statistics for the whole country. We are committed to continuing this improvement by:

Developing excellent leadership and highly engaged staff
Continuing to reform terminal operations
Finding clever new ways to improve the productivity of our people and equipment.
